Autumn blogginess

Time for another “I need to blog” post. Sigh. Here’s what happens (I might have described it before). I think of something to write. I have other more important things to do. I plan to make time for it. I don’t. Then I think of another thing to write. That’s now two things on the backlog. And it just goes downhill from there.

When did I start procrastinating blogging?

So, on with the here and now. There are two strange cats in my kitchen. For another week. Old Quintus is still around, though I had a bit of a scare with him last week-end (he doesn’t like Tramadol). I’m still looking for my next job in Lausanne, but it’s going to be a bit on hold right now because I’m getting an arthroscopy done to my right wrist next week (damage from the car accident I had in April).

I made holes in the wall this morning, part of a DIY operation to give Erica a cat-flap. Well, the first hole I drilled was great, but with the other five I hit something hard 2–3cm in. I’ll give them another go this afternoon with a smaller drill bit. And pray.

I bought a ticket to go and see Elton John in Zurich next year. And heard him interviewed on Fresh Air. I’m walking more, as sports are off the table until February (thanks, car accident). And taking photos. I went to France to give a talk on feline diabetes (in French). I’m following the impeachment news. I voted, mainly for women. I listen to too many podcasts and read too many interesting things. My mind is a bit all over the place at times. I think of algorithms, cats, people, politics, my next job, and what my place in the world is.
